GENERAL INFORMATION FOR VISITORS

Papua New Guinea is located in the Australian Continent and its capital city is Port Moresby. Papua New Guinea is built on different cultures from 22 provinces with more than 800 different languages. In Port Moresby, the climate is humid with little rain at the beginning of the year and at the end of the year. But usually sunny throughout. When coming into Port Moresby, you will come through the Jackson’s International Airport which also accommodates for domestic flights throughout the country’s 21 provinces. In hosting the 2018 APEC summit, Port Moresby has boosted and improved its security dramatically. Two thirds out of the 700 police personnel from Port Moresby were involved in the APEC joint security task force trained by Australian Defence Force and some 30 international dignitaries from Foreign missions. There will be high level security during the conference and your safety is guaranteed with our well trained Police personals All tourist Visas must be lodged to the Papua New Guinea Immigration and Citizenship Division at least 2 months prior to departure date. Visa fees on arrival at the designated Papua New Guinea International Ports of Entry for tourists were removed in 2013, therefore visa on arrival is now $0. The Papua New Guinea Immigration and Citizenship Services Authority is extending a Special Exemption – Designated Events Visa (SE-DEV) upon arrival to all eligible international delegates invited for the IMAAC 2019. Jackson’s International Airport

Jackson’s International Airport is the busiest air hub located 8km outside Port Moresby and consists of both international and domestic terminals which are linked by a cover walkway. The two airlines for Papua New Guinea is Air Niugini as the national airline and PNG Air serving most the domestic market. Air Niugini operates both domestic and International flights to Asia, Oceania and Australia. The International terminal also caters for International airlines such as Qantas and Philippines Airlines.
